DONATION OF INCUBATOR TO THE AGONA SWEDRU GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL

In a bid to reduce neonatal death, Mr. Richard Ekow Quansah (Philanthropist and Entrepreneur) through the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation on Saturday, 5thFebruary, 2022 donated an incubator to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

Mr. Quansah in his remarks said, he was touched when Kwame Sefa Kayi called him and asked him to buy an incubator to support his foundation. He obliged but told him, the incubator must be brought to Swedru hospital and that’s why they are here to present it.  He promised to buy 2 additional incubators for the hospital. He therefore, used the occasion to urged the health workers to be professional in their dealings with the patients that comes to health care at the hospital.

 Dr. Julius Abuku, the medical superintendent of the Hospital thanked the donors for the kind gesture done them. He then seized the opportunity to share the challenges confronting the hospital, that the maternity block is not spacious enough and lack certain amenities at the hospital.

Hon. Evans Addison Onumah Coleman, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Agona West expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Quansah and the Kokrokoo Charities for the kind gesture. He shared his experience in relation to incubators. He said, he has a mix feeling whenever he hears about incubators. He believes the incubators will go a long way in saving lives of our babies.

Mr. Kwame Sefa Kayi of Peace FM Kokrokoo morning host, also thanked the donor for supporting his vision. This is the 42nd incubators the foundation has donated since they started, he said. He added that, his vision is to give out 100 incubators to help save lives of pre-mature babies. He therefore urged them to take good care of the incubator as its very expensive.

The Central Regional Minister Hon. Justina Marigold Assan also used the occasion to call on all worthy individuals in the region to emulate the kind gesture of Mr. Quansah and support such a worthy course.

Nana Kweku Esieni V, Nifahene of Agona Swedru who chaired the program, called on those present to contribute their quota to give Swedru Hospital a facelift. He added that, the hospital has a lot of challenges that need the help of everyone. He also applauded the donor for coming to the aid of the hospital.
