COMMISSIONING OF K.G BLOCK

Hon. Evans Onumah Coleman, the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Agona West together with the Member of Parliament(MP) for Agona West Hon. Cynthia Morrison on Wednesday 18th May, 2022 commissioned an ultramodern Kindergarten (K.G) Block for Agona Edukrom Basic school.
The 2-unit classroom block with office, store and toilet facilities couple with recreational center is under the infrastructure for Poverty Eradication and was funded by the Coastal Development Authority (CODA).
The MCE in his speech stressed that, education remains the best tool to leverage on in our quest to alleviate poverty and that every investment in education must be well applauded by all and sundry. The government is keen on eradicating poverty, hence initiated many policies to develop and build the capacity of the citizenry.
He assured the chiefs and people gathered that, he will ensure that the facility is put to best use so as to encourage school attendance by the pupils.
The MP in addressing the people noted that, education can only be improved when a conducive environment effective for teaching and learning is provided. She lauded the Management of CODA for the early completion of the K.G facility.
This K.G block will attract more kids to the school and that is exactly what His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP is providing across the country.
Speaking at the commissioning, Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shaib, the Chief Executive Officer of CODA stated that, the new facilities was funded through the Special Development Initiatives (SDI) which is aimed at supporting the government priority initiatives for sustainable socio-economic development.
He outlined that, education is the only way for the world to promote a sense of cohesion and solidarity among displaced people, particularly those of school-going age, as well as help create enabling atmosphere that will encourage them to live more purposeful and dignified lives. He advised parents to focus more on their children’s education as its through education that he has come far in life.
Also present at the function were the NPP constituency executives, municipal coordinating director Mr. Ishmael Nana Ogyefo, the Municipal Education Director Mr. Bismark M. Offei and the chief of Edukrom Nana Kwesi Badu.
