On Friday, 18th July 2025, the Agona West Municipal Assembly honoured an invitation from the Agona Traditional Council, led by its esteemed President, Okofo Katakyi Nyarko Eku X.

Leading the delegation from the Agona West Municipal Assembly were the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Eric Gyamfi Odoom, the Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Simon Asare, Heads of Department and units, selected Assembly Members, and some members of the Christian Council.

The meeting focused on strategies to curb the alarming rise in illicit drug use among the youth of Agonaman, sanitation issues, dilapidated structures within the municipality, indiscriminate building of structures along water ways and without permits.

The MCE in his response to the Agona Traditional Council pledged the Assembly's support in tackling all the challenges brought forward and also urged the traditional council to help the Assembly in generating more revenue.

Both parties underscored the importance of unity and cordial relations among the various religious associations and was also emphasized as a key measure to promote the development of Agonaman, particularly Agona West.
